François Escalmel was born in Montreal (Canada) in 1969. He lives and works in Montreal.
He is one of the favorite artist of cult author and director Alejandro Jodorowsky. He wrote about his art: “Francois Escalmel has more imagination than Salvador Dalì”!
The paintings of François Escalmel are attempts at opening the doors of perception.
The artist' s vision is filled with wonder for the whole human experience, exploring both its bright and dark sides. With a touch of humour or a sense of the tragic, he wants to transcend boundaries.
