Hajime Sorayama was born in 1947 in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. He lives and works in Tokyo.
After graduating from the Chuo Art School in 1969, he began to create his beautiful erotic paintings. Since '80s, he has been showing his artworks in galleries around the world: Japan, Europe and USA.
Sorayama is described as an imaginative modern day Vargas. The conceptual originality and futuristic visions of Sorayama transcends the erotic form and maintains a growing number of main stream admirers.
The art world focused attention on Sorayama´s brush painting technique. Using brush, pencil and acrylic paint, airbrushing only finishing details, he creates memorable images in a hyper-realistic style. He paints female pin ups, metallic robots and erotic art. The highly detailed art is featured in movies, books and magazines.
