(on exhibition in 2007)

Born in 1956, Gilles Berquet graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in France and he started his artistic career in the early 80’s. His main field of search is Erotism and he never stops making his collectors impressed by the endless variety of obsessions and fetichisms which flow out of his vibrant images.
Clovis Trouille and Georges Bataille, both of whom were on the margins of Surrealism, but principally the painter and photographer Pierre Molinier, are the artists who influenced Gilles Berquet the most, who pushed him the most to become a photographer.
